Nosotros took this same prowl five years agone. My husband had hurt his back. It rained in all three French Polynesia ports. I wasn't impressed then. But we decided to do it once again considering nosotros love Hawaii and all those bounding main days. I'm glad we did. It was a much better trip the second time around.

Sailaway day:

We were scheduled to sail at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, merely disembarkation from the previous prowl took so long that we didn't lath until 3:xxx. We learned later on that every not US passenger was finger printed and all their luggage inspected.  Nigh of us had arrived at the terminal betwixt xi and 12. In that location was no nutrient available, simply water.
Dark was falling when we finally sailed.
The transport is carrying 3000 passenger from 29 countries.
Nosotros were as well tired to unpack, but did go to the Welcome Aboard show.

Beginning total day at body of water:
After breakfast, we attended a Cruise Critic Run across and Greet. At that place were over 200 members.
We got our unpacking done after tiffin.
Before dinner we went to run across a magician. Later on dinner, a singer put on quite a good show. Nosotros made a stop at the piano bar for a few songs and called it a night.

Second ocean day:
In that location was some other Cruise Critic event this morn, a Motel Clamber. 1 motel was totally busy equally a Tiki Hut. It's e'er interesting to see people come up upward with clever storage for things other than wearable.
This evening'southward entertainment was by a comedian.
Piano bar for a night cap.

Third sea 24-hour interval:
We enrolled in a beginner'south ukulele class.
The Captain hosted the Welcome Aboard party. There was plenty of champagne flowing.
The principal show was by a singer who thought she was the diva she was imitating.
There are several duos playing in unlike lounges around the ship. Some of the musicians from the ship'south orchestra as well occasionally play jazz.
Dorsum to the piano bar.

Fourth sea day:
Our ukulele class met over again today. We are happy that this is a simple instrument.
There is too a hula trip the light fantastic toe course..
Several lectures on the upcoming islands are offered.
Tonight's evidence was a combination of singing, dancing, and magic. It didn't work very well. The magic got lost in the middle of all that was happening on the stage.
The captain keeps us very well informed well-nigh what to wait. The weather has been great and the sailing very smooth.

Hilo:
Nosotros planned to go to the top of the tallest mountain on World, Mauna Kea, but when we reached the visitors middle, we plant out that the road to the summit was closed due to ice. We were just 8 miles abroad. We went to a Japanese garden and to a black sand beach instead.
In the evening, an a capella group put on a very squeamish prove. This was followed by a Hawaiian deck political party.

Honolulu:
Nosotros went to the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, on Waikiki Beach and had some food and Mai Tais with a view of Diamond Head.
In the evening, a local folkloric group came aboard to sing and trip the light fantastic to traditional Hawaiian music.

Maui:
This morning time nosotros enjoyed watching whales put on a great display.
A very funny ventriloquist entertained u.s.a. this evening. Nosotros cease almost evenings at the piano bar.

Kauai:
The rainiest place on Earth was under a flood watch. We stayed on the ship.
On lath, King Kamehameha Day was celebrated with lots of music and trip the light fantastic.
Later, another comedian kept us laughing.

5th sea twenty-four hour period:
Dorsum to relaxing bounding main days of staying in the shade and watching the ocean.
This night'south main prove was by a husband and wife team. She sang, he played the saxophone.

Sixth bounding main day:
In that location was a Cruise Critic lunch today. A department of the dining room was reserved for us. It's always fun to talk to other cruisers about, what else, cruising. Nosotros ran into someone with over 200 cruises. I judge I'll never catch up to them.
We had another ukulele class.
This evening'southward show was by the ship'south singers and dancers.

Seventh sea day:
Another special day, Crossing the Equator. King Neptune presided over the judgement of those Pollywogs who dared to enter his realm. They were sentenced to kiss a fish and were smeared with all kinds of foods, such as spaghetti in lycopersicon esculentum sauce. They were then declared to exist Shellbacks and allowed to keep their voyage.
The Popular Choir put on a concert in the afternoon. The professional evening entertainers were a comedian and a hypnotist.

Eighth sea day:
Some of the students from the hula trip the light fantastic class and the ukulele form put on a articulation show.
At dark the ventriloquist and the hubby and wife team returned.

Pago Pago, American Samoa:
Hot, hot, hot, and very boiling.
Nosotros took a three hour tour on one of their beautiful tiny busses. At least there was a cakewalk while we were moving.
Nosotros drove through several villages and on the concluding i we had a presentation. In that location were a couple of dances and a sit-in on how to layer hot rocks, food, more hot rocks, and lots of banana leaves in the oven. All the cooking is done past the men!!! We got to taste a few foods, my favorite being immature coconut. It is very soft and yummy. We were likewise given some ava/kava. Information technology tasted better than I expected.
Back to the ship for a shower and a cold drink in an air conditioned lounge.
The evening found united states of america enjoying a singer and then the piano bar.

Ninth sea mean solar day:
More destination talks. A lot of information about volcanoes, hot spots, moving plates, local community, traditional foods, and more.
This evening's shows were comedy and a harmonica role player. Comedy won, followed past the piano bar.

10th sea day:
More talks. They are repeated on boob tube throughout the day, so nosotros try to take hold of them while getting ready in our room.
This night, a vocalist and a pair of acrobats were the evening'south main entertainers.
There are many styles of music going on all afternoon and evening in a variety of venues, from modest lounges to the main theater.

Bora Bora - solar day 1:
We are getting audacious in our erstwhile age. We did a helmet swoop. Fifteen feet under beautiful, articulate water with lots of colorful fish. An amazing one-half hr.
A local folkloric trip the light fantastic toe troupe came aboard and put on a keen dhow.

Bora Bora - mean solar day 2:
This was the best shore circuit I have ever been on! I had read nigh information technology on Prowl Critic and it was as wonderful as described there.
Four outrigger canoes, each conveying 12 people, took us to several locations. Some shallow, some deeper h2o, where you could swim and snorkel with sharks and cord rays, or just watch  from the gunkhole. We also went to a coral garden. The next stop was on a motu for lunch. The tables are in the water and yous also sit in the water. Great way to keep cool.
Luncheon was quite a feast including suckling hog, chicken, fish, bread fruit, taro root, poi, plantains, and lots more. Beer and champagne kept flowing. At the finish we enjoyed a fire dance before returning to the send.
This night ended with a deck party.

Tahiti:
Papeete is a big urban center, non what you think of when you think of French Polynesia.
At that place weren't whatsoever excursions that interested u.s.a., then we decided to make it gift day. We walked around shopping in the heat. Not fun, simply yous can't go abode empty handed.
We were treated to a Tahitian folkloric show. Corking drumming and dancing.

Moorea:
Nosotros took another boat tour with pond, snorkeling, and lunch on a motu. Nice, but nothing like the one in Bora Bora.
Tonight, the ship's singers and dancers are back in a production show.

Sea days, sea days, and more sea days:
Time to rest upward from all those excursions.
